We enjoy drinking our Katu loose leaf tea! We brew it in our coffee machine and enjoy it with frothy cream. As former coffee drinkers, we thought we would miss the taste of coffee, but we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious and flavorful our new beverage is. It has proven to be a great alternative. Now, after three months, we are very happy with our new morning drink.
Having never tasted yerba matte before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, this unique-tasting discovery, turned out to be a great new-to-me alternative to my regular, morning cup of coffee and/or my green tea.
I purchased the loose leaf blend and simply used a pour-over method to make myself my first cup of yerba matte. Initially I used 2 teaspoons of leaves for my pour-over. It was good and richly flavored, and I could really taste the “mochaness” of the leaves. I believe I just added some stevia.
However, for my second cup, the next day, I just used 1 teaspoon of leaves for my pour-over, and then again a bit of stevia, and I preferred that ratio. It allowed the flavor to be a bit more “airy”. Additionally, I used the portion I had not finished while hot, to make an iced drink, and that was equally tasty.
All in all, I am really happy to have this new genre of a drink to add to my morning beverage rotation. Plus, aside from all the health benefits, it makes me feel a bit more worldly! Thank you Katu!
I’m an American mate drinker. Not many options and have been trying to figure out how to create my own cold brew mate that actually taste good. I’ve finally found the solution. Plus I love that I can travel with this and use it in the coffee makers. May god bless this company.

I made a cup about 5 minutes after I opened the package. It’s so delicious! Better than I expected. Brewed it as I would an espresso shot and made a delicious latte. Amazing! 🥰

Steep 5-8 minutes, then strain.
Use standard coffee filter.
Add 2 tbsp (14g) per 8 oz water.
Substitute 1-2 shots Kojoi for ground espresso.
